Have you ever felt like your brain is running a race, but instead of a single track, it’s zooming down a dozen different paths all at once? That’s how I’ve always described my mind—thanks to my ADHD, it’s like having multiple brains working at the same time. Some might think that sounds overwhelming (and trust me, it can be), but it’s also one of the most amazing things that make me who I am.
That’s why I love the phrase Journey of a Different Mind. It perfectly captures how I see the world and how I create my art. My mind works differently—it’s layered, complex, and sometimes feels like controlled chaos. Imagine trying to juggle a hundred thoughts at once, each one bursting with potential. The real trick is being able to shuffle through those thoughts and pull out the ones that work.
Now, I won’t lie: that’s not always easy. Some days, it feels like I’m staring at a puzzle where none of the pieces fit. It can be frustrating, even exhausting. But then, there are those magical moments when everything syncs up—when all those scattered layers come together to form something incredible.
It’s a lot like playing the perfect round of golf. For most of the game, you’re navigating obstacles, strategizing your next move, and trying to stay focused. You might slice the ball, land in a bunker, or overshoot the green. But then, you hit that shot. You know the one—the perfect swing that feels effortless, the one that makes you think, This is why I play.
That’s what it feels like when my thoughts align. When I’m painting or brainstorming new ideas, there’s this moment where everything just clicks. All the layers, all the chaos, suddenly make sense. It’s pure magic.
My art is a reflection of this journey. Every piece tells a story of how my mind works, with colors and textures that mirror the layers of my thoughts. I like to think of my ADHD as both a challenge and a gift—it forces me to see the world differently, to think outside the box, and to embrace the unexpected.
So, when you see my art, I hope you can feel the energy and the movement behind it. I hope it reminds you that even when things feel chaotic, there’s beauty in the process. Life is messy, unpredictable, and full of surprises—just like a round of golf.
